Hammond Art Guild 62ND Annual Art Show
August 2024
25 May, 2023: Early this morning Jim Creel and Craig Braquet were on Johnny Chauvin's Morning Show on WTGG in Hammond to talk about our Adult Art Summer Camp and the 61st Annual Judged Exhibition. I'm sure that MOST of you missed that event so here it is again for your listening pleasure compliments of WTGG and Johnny Chauvin.
Hammond Art Guild Summer Adult Art Camp
Summer Adult Camp.
The Hammond Art Guild strives to bring our summer adult art camp to the generational general public offering a variety of art classes to residents of Tangipahoa, Livingston, St. Tammany, and other surrounding parishes.
Clay, painting, drawing, jewelry, basket weaving, and other classes such as fabric dying and art foundations have been some of our past classes. Summer camp classes are typically around 3 hours a day for 5 days and are open to ages 16 and above.
Registration for the summer camp will open around April 2023.
Hammond Art Guild Annual Open Exhibition
Hammond Art Guild Annual Exhibition.
This is an open show. Members and non-members are encouraged to participate. Works of art in the categories of 2D, 3D, photography, and many other formats are accepted. This exhibition is judged and monetary awards and ribbons are presented at the reception.
Registration for the annual exhibition will open around May 2024.
The Guild had a presence at the Hammond Art in Bloom Event on April 29th in Hammond Louisiana. Marion Ochs, CB Hume, Nancy Lowentritt, and Cyndi McMurray presented works for sale.
Guild President Marion Ochs said "There were a few sales but mostly it was nice just to talk to the people coming by who are interested in the guild and our summer school classes. It was a beautiful day and a lot of people were out."
The Guild had a presence at the Hammond Farmers Market on March 6th. Craig Braquet, Marion Elizabeth Rigdon Ochs, CB Hume Louisiana Artist and Ethan Chavez presented works for sale. I believe that everyone sold works too!
Our 2024 February Guild Meeting Project
Former HAG president Roland Guidry gave a wonderful demo on using cold wax with oil. Members were able to test and experience how the medium changes when different additives are incorporated.
